If you’re doing any serious SEO for your site, then you certainly want some high page rank backlinks. These are called inbound links, too, and right now at least are exactly what you need to climb in the serps. You can’t believe everything you read about backlinks, to put it mildly. If you read something on the subject, then, and you aren’t sure about it, make sure you verify it. You should check everything, including what we say.
We know our information is solid and current, but you don’t know that. The following are some proven strategies for obtaining high PR backlinks.
Article marketing can be a good backlinking strategy, but many people make a basic error in the way they carry this out. The usual practice is to publish relevant and targeted articles to Goarticles, Ezinearticles and other top directories. They don’t, however, publish the article on their own site first, which is the mistake. This can be good for backlinking the article, but doesn’t help their own site much, at least not directly. It’s easier, of course, to rank your article on a high PR directory than on your own site, but if you want to get links and improve your site’s ranking, you should first publish to your own site and get links coming there.
Now, moving on we go to forum backlinking, and this is extremely popular now. The one thing about this is you need to use forums that allow links in their signature files. Of course it is all up to the forum owner, and some do not permit this type of backlinking in their forums. You can also take advantage of people who sell particular services for forum backlinking. But, to be honest, that is not something we highly recommend you do, but we wanted to mention it in case you come across it. The thing is that you really do want to have as much variety with your backlink sources as possible. The last thing you want is to be reviewed by a Google employee and not look natural in your backlinks – you can drop in the serps, overnight.
Even sites with a nofollow link policy can be beneficial if they’re widely used, such as Facebook and other social networks. Very often, sites originally use dofollow link attributes, but then lots of marketers take advantage of this, and Google persuades them to switch to nofollow. Don’t assume, however, that there’s no benefit to gaining nofollow links. No doubt, they aren’t as effective as dofollow links. But they still count as a backlink, with minimal PR “sometimes,” plus they help your overall linking strategy look more normal to Google. Your goal is to have your backlinking look as natural as possible, and if you only have dofollow links from high PR sites, this is definitely unnatural. If you can get nofollow links from high PR sites, then, you should do so. You can actually get high PR backlinks in many different ways. You may want to consider outsourcing your backlinking. Yet if you are new to outsourcing, you have to be cautious and you should spend a little time learning about this process.
